Goldy’s Gameroom on the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities’ campus is a hang-out for students to meet, go bowling, relax, and study located in the basement of Coffman Memorial Union.
I was challenged to create a cohesive design to span fourteen panels across the university’s bowling lanes. The panel series was to communicate the sport of bowling, while reflecting the university’s identity and graphic standards in a dynamic way. Additionally, I was asked to design the panels to react effectively under black light for the gameroom’s Galactic Bowling nights.
The process included careful measurement of the panels themselves, research of black light fluorescent colors and inks, and conscious spacial reasoning during the ideation of the artwork.
